Tunbridge Wells is finally set to have its own independent watch service centre as ‘David Carpenter’ is due to open its doors to the public over the next few weeks.

Set in the High Street next door to Caffé Nero, David Carpenter will bring a professional watch service centre to the towns offering a team of 4 watchmakers who will be able to service, repair and restore their clients most valuable timepieces.

David Carpenter has had over 12 years’ experience as a watchmaker with Breitling and as a registered Omega and Longines service centre. His business was previously based in East Grinstead; David explains the move: “due to the combination of a great business model and the hard work and dedication of the staff, the business has grown significantly while in East Grinstead and we were in need of a new premises in which to expand”

“The move to the beautiful high street in Tunbridge Wells is already proving to be a fantastic decision with luxury watches being worn by many local residents and as the store is situated so close to the train station, we can offer the convenience of carrying out minor repairs such as battery and re-seal on the same day if possible, but also conduct comprehensive repairs and restorations to all luxury timepieces”.

To create a watch enthusiasts’ ‘hub’, David is also shortly to announce a number of renowned watch brands to bring some unique horological styles that the public won’t have seen in Tunbridge Wells before. With a few famous Swiss watch brands still to arrive the store is opening initially with its exciting range of independent brands. Retail Manager, Philip Copping explains: “Having spoken to many of our High Street neighbours it has been incredibly encouraging to know that our business model resonates directly with theirs. We are offering a diverse range of very stylish and individual watches for men and women who want the perfect ‘weekend watch’ or a statement piece for a special occasion. By carefully identifying small up-and-coming independent brands we can offer the High Street client something they will not have seen before: brands such as Mr. Jones Watches, Briston and Elliot Brown – unique designs unlike anything else in the watch market today.”

David Carpenter adds to this offering a fantastic selection of Luxury Pre-owned watches including Rolex, Omega and Jaeger Le Coultre.

With shop-fitting currently in progress, David anticipates opening to the public by the middle of April when the watchmaking team will be able to start looking after client’s timepieces.
